Timestrip introduces its first micro data logger

Timestrip®, the developer of smart indicator technology, has introduced its first temperature data logger – the TL520. This compact and economical ‘micro data logger’ provides alerts when temperatures breach set limits, and allows the logged data to be downloaded to an app for investigation and analysis.

Timestrip's first micro data logger

Simpler and easier to use than conventional data loggers, the TL520 requires minimal training in use, and can be used at any point in the cold chain.

The TL520 is a single use device providing an immediate irreversible indication of over- and under-temperature conditions using built-in LED lights. Accuracy is quoted as ±0.5 degC over the normal operating range.

A novel feature of the TL520 is that stored data can be sent wirelessly to an accompanying app. for investigation and analysis using built-in NFC technology. No computer is required as the data downloads to any compatible mobile device, and both iOS and Android devices are supported.

The 2-8 degC default settings make the TL520 ideal for monitoring cold chain (refrigerated) temperatures in the storage and transport of sensitive products. Pharmaceuticals, blood, vaccines and food products are typical end use applications.

“The new micro logger provides many of the benefits of bulky, traditional data loggers, yet is much simpler to use and is small enough to store with many products during transport and storage“, said Nora Murphy, Commercial Director of Timestrip.

The TL520 is now available from Timestrip and its distributors.

About Timestrip

Timestrip® is an agile technology business that designs and manufactures time and temperature indicators. The company works in partnership with global brands, leading OEMs and product designers. Timestrip Enabled™ products drive changes in supply chain standard operating procedures and consumer behaviour, which in turn leads to greater product safety, product authenticity, regulatory compliance and reduced wastage. Products incorporating Timestrip indicators have a built-in value-added proposition.

Timestrip indicators are capable of monitoring time from one hour to two years, and temperatures from -20 degC to 53 degC. In addition to a core product range, a research and development team develops new products for bespoke applications, replacing the need for expensive and unstable electronic components.

The products are low cost, making them suitable for a wide range of monitoring applications in the food, pharmaceutical, healthcare and many other sectors. To date, Timestrip has manufactured and sold over 100 million products to customers worldwide, including 3M, Tesco, Parker Hannifin, Siemens and Febreze. It is a previous winner of a UK NHS Innovations Award, and was identified in the ‘Top 10 Emerging Technologies of 2019’ by Scientific American magazine, and one of the Top 10 Global Trade Trends for 2022” by TradeReady, the blog for international trade experts.
