TWI to join American Petroleum Institute Subcommittee

The American Petroleum Institute (API) are holding a Committee on the Standardisation of Oilfield Equipment and Materials (CSOEM). The CSOEM is being broken down into a number of subcommittees, each of which will work on a specific area of exploration and production of oilfield equipment.

Dr Bernadette Craster, Consultant-Polymer Materials specialist, has worked for the oil and gas industry in an applied research capacity on transport processes in non-metallic materials since 1989. She joined TWI in 2012 and, since then, TWI has invested in an advanced permeation and polymer degradation facility in support of our Members.  Recently, Bernadette was invited to join API 15 in order to assist with specifications for Fibreglass and Plastic Tubulars.

The API is the only national trade association to represent all facets of the oil and natural gas industry in the United States and supports 10.3 million U.S. jobs and nearly 8% of the U.S. economy. While the API is primarily domestic in focus, they have recently expanded their work into a growing number of international initiatives and programs.
