Independent Cambridge: a brilliant boutique

Cambridge boasts a fantastic range of independent traders, but many residents - let alone visitors - are unaware of what's available right on our doorstep. The publishers of Independent Cambridge, a book which celebrates these businesses, highlight a selection of these 'indies' here. This week, ahead of a charity Fashion Show that features its range, Baska.

Baska is listed as one of the top five Premium Independent Boutiques for 2012. Having recently been nominated for the Drapers Fashion Awards, Baska was recognised for its up-to-the-minute sense of fashion and excellent customer service. Established 16 years ago, this prestigious nomination was well deserved.

From a fabulous dress to the best of everyday wear, Baska ensures that there is something for every occasion. The clothes are all from the top fashion houses such as Moschino Cheap & Chic, Magaschoni and Max Mara. M+F Girbaud and M Missoni can also be found and with owner Baska’s sharp eye for the next trends, new designers are often added to the already brilliant collection.

Alongside the clothes, well-chosen accessories can be found. From the most delicate Otis Jaxon earrings to Red Valentino shoes, striking belts by Marella and a great selection of bags, everything can be provided for that amazing outfit.

A fabulous shopping experience can be found in this shop in Magdalene Street. The light and bright establishment has first-rate facilities for changing and both Baska and her staff are always on hand to give the best advice.
