Discover a world of worry-free motoring at Motability’s free Cambridgeshire event

This summer, disabled motorists and their families can find out all they need to know about the Motability Scheme by heading to the One Big Day event at Peterborough Arena, Cambridgeshire next Thursday (6 August).

The indoor event will showcase a variety of vehicles available to lease through the Motability Scheme and is a great day out for all the family with a range of activities such as test drives, face painting and the chance to win an iPad mini. One Big Day in Cambridgeshire is free to attend, including free parking and visitors are also treated to a free cup of tea or coffee when they arrive.

On display

One Big Day at Peterborough Arena in Cambridgeshire will showcase a range of vehicles available to lease through the Motability Scheme including more than 50 cars from 13 different manufacturers. In addition, over 30 models of scooters and powered wheelchairs, a wide range of vehicle adaptations and more than 15 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles will be on display. Visitors can also get advice from the team of friendly Motability advisors who are on hand to answer questions, and meet the Motability Scheme partners – Kwik Fit, RAC and RSA Motability, as well as The Forum of Mobility Centres and Disabled Motoring UK, who will be offering advice.

Test drives

Visitors can test drive both adapted and non-adapted cars with a professional driving instructor, either as a driver or passenger, to see which vehicles are best suited to their individual needs. The adapted cars will be fitted with a wide range of different driving adaptations including hand controls, steering wheel balls, electronic brakes and left foot accelerators. Test drives can be booked on the day at the test drive booking desk and visitors will simply need to show their photocard driving licence and sign the Test Drive Declaration form, to confirm they meet the test drive criteria (full details available at motability.co.uk/onebigday).

Fun for all the family

Younger visitors will enjoy the free children’s entertainment which will include face painting, balloon modelling and much more. Plus, everyone will have the chance to meet the Motability mascot, Billy the Bear.

Every visitor will receive a token on arrival which can be exchanged for a free cup of tea, coffee or a soft drink and a range of food will be available to purchase. Parking the event is free plus a limited number of scooters and manual wheelchairs will be available to borrow free of charge – these can be bookable online, prior to each event.
