LodeStar Festival, now in its 8th year, will be held from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September at a family farm in Lode, just outside Cambridge, named the “Fields of LodeStar”. The family friendly festival is a wonderful three days full of the best live music performances of worldwide mixed genre acts, fun entertainment, crafts and workshops, theatre, sports and exciting outdoor activities. There is a range of quality local wholesome food and drink plus much more for all of the family to enjoy.
This year EACH has been announced as the charity partner for the three day event and the charity plans to have a stand running throughout, with fun activities to engage festival goers. Collections will be held throughout the festival so revelers are being asked to give generously.
Doug Durrant, LodeStar’s founder, said: “Music is powerful and emotive, songs influence our thoughts and emotions throughout our life. The ethos of LodeStar has always been to support our community and health related organisations. I and LodeStar’s small team work hard to offer one of the most family friendly events in the UK that is also recognised as being at the forefront of introducing great new artists. We are all very pleased to be involved and help with the important fund-raising for EACH, as well as offering a special moment in time for the EACH families and its staff to attend.”
EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia and supports their families. For both families accessing care, and those who have been bereaved, EACH is a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time. All the money raised at LodeStar Festival will go towards providing these vital services.
Neil Hamilton-Meikle EACH Cambridgeshire Corporate Fundraiser, said: “We are delighted that LodeStar Festival has chosen to support EACH this year and we look forward to being involved in the festival. EACH has a strong affiliation with music and we know the importance it has in people’s lives, a passion I know that LodeStar share. We offer music therapy sessions as a way of connecting with the children, young people and families that we work with and our music therapists are constantly looking for new ways to use music. We are looking forward to immersing ourselves in full festival spirit and hope to work with Doug and his team for many years to come.”
More than 75 acts are signed up to play LodeStar Festival across the three days, including: Swim Deep, Spector, Sundara Karma, Max Jury and The Sherlocks.
