The Greenovation Revolution: How to Make Cities Greener and Fairer

Collectively, cities are responsible for 72% of greenhouse gas emissions. To tackle the climate crisis we need greener cities with energy-efficient buildings, transportation, and infrastructure.

Joan Fitzgerald is a celebrated author and professor at Northeastern University, USA. She believes that cities are too focused on ‘random acts of greenness’, at the expense of radical action could decarbonise our urban centres. In her recent book Greenovation: Urban Leadership on Climate Change, she sets out how ‘greenovating’ cities can help reverse the path towards irrevocable climate damage.

Join Joan and Nesta’s Oliver Zanetti on 7 October, to discuss how we can make our cities greener.

This is an essential watch for anyone interested in sustainability, climate action planning and green innovation, particularly within developing green cities and net-zero carbon buildings.

The recording will be made available shortly after the event if you’re unable to attend - register now to have it sent directly to your inbox!
