Associate Professor of Anaesthesia (Honorary Consultant)

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor of Anaesthesia (Honorary Consultant), Department of Medicine.

This post offers unrivalled opportunity to undertake high quality research within an outstanding academic and clinical environment. Applicants should hold GMC specialist registration, or be eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of a certificate of completion of training at time of interview. Applicants should hold clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK certificate of completion of training in the relevant parent specialty (Anaesthesia/Intensive Care Medicine), and training required to fulfil all aspects of the clinical role.

You are required to hold a PhD/DPhil/MD at the time of your application and be of the standing required for an appropriate honorary contract of service with the NHS. Candidates should have a developing bibliography of research publications and track record of securing research funding.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinical Consultant scale for Associate Professor (Honorary Consultant) and can take up the appointment as soon as possible. For University Associate Professors the appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a five year probationary period.

This is an integrated appointment between the University and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and as such requires an Honorary Clinical Contract, which will be issued by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.

You will require GMC registration, Licence to Practice and medical defence cover for the duration of your appointment.
