Madingley Hall is part of the Institute of Continuing Education in the University of Cambridge, built in the 16th century, this elegant country house has 16 well-equipped meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a professional kitchen, licensed bar, coffee shop, Lodge House available as rentable short-stay accommodation and is set in 8-acres of grounds including superb Capability Brown designed gardens.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Chef De Partie. In this role, you will work in the Kitchen Team, preparing food to the highest standard and with the freshest ingredients. You will also be involved in creating and designing of menu which range from buffet to plated service in house. This will allow you to add your knowledge to the production and creativity of seasonal and bespoke menu development.

You will ensure the hygiene and health safety standard are always adhered to and will liaise with your line manager and F&B team regarding clients or menu specifics including allergies or any dietary awareness.

Our kitchen is looking for a creative driven and passionate individual who can be diverse and flexible in food preparation with a good knowledge of cooking methods and applications, HACCP COSHH systems and allergen awareness.

As a chef de Partie you will be expected to carry out a degree of productivity which will rely on your skills and practical experience and therefore a solid food knowledge will need to be always on display so to is your hygiene awareness.

You will require having NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and a basic food hygiene certificate, with experience in a commercial kitchen within a quality hospitality led venue.

Good communication skills and the ability to work organised and effectively as part of a team and independently in a busy environment are essential.
