Finance Coordinator (Fixed Term)

We are seeking a Finance Coordinator to support financial administration across all departments in the School of Technology. This is a new role, which will be based primarily in the Finance Office at the Department of Engineering's site in Trumpington Street, to provide direct accounting support in a highly trained, efficient and flexible manner to all departments across the School of Technology.

Reporting to the Department of Engineering's Finance Office Manager, the majority of time will be spent supporting the Department of Engineering, with the remainder of time spent supporting other departments in the School in order to contribute to the management of financial operations across the School.

You will be educated to at least A Level standard with an AAT level 4 Professional Diploma, or equivalent accounting qualification, or actively studying for the later stages of the AAT level 4 Professional Diploma. The successful candidate will be highly numerate and analytical as well as skilled in processing accounting transactions, ideally using computerised accounting systems such as Oracle Financials. Good communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to display tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of staff at all levels, are essential for this role. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate significant experience gained whilst working in a busy financial or administrative function within a large organisation.

As this role supports the School of Technology as a whole, some travel to other University sites in the city of Cambridge may be required as well as occasional travel outside of the city.
