Graduate Embedded Software Engineer (Software Infrastructure)

DescriptionAt Samsung Cambridge Solution Centre, we develop world-leading Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity chips that are utilised in millions of devices worldwide.  

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our Software Infrastructure team on 9th September 2024. Your role will involve helping to develop software through the entire software lifecycle including design, implementation, test, debug and support and may require travelling to customer sites to provide hands-on debug and support of issues. 

You will be working in a department, which has teams located in both Cambridge, UK, and Aalborg, Denmark, which is a great opportunity to get familiar with cross-cultural collaboration from a very early stage in your career.

You will contribute towards a number of areas of the power management firmware such as supply management, peripheral devices control, inter-processor communication, bus management and be part of the team who are responsible for the delivery of the fully tested component. 
Key ResponsibilitiesYour main responsibilities will include:
  • Contribute to requirements capture
  • Contribute towards task definition and work breakdown including time estimation
  • Contribute to the development and test of software to agreed timescales
  • Contribute to the delivery of high quality software 
  • Maintenance of software including defect investigation
  • Contribute to software integration onto new platforms
  • Develop tests and scripts to exercise solutions being implemented

Skills and ExperienceSkills and experience that you'll need: 
  • Degree in a relevant subject 
  • Experience of using ‘C’ programming language
  • Experience with scripting languages such as python, bash etc
  • Ability to comprehend RTL written in Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • Some understanding of embedded systems
  • Effective team player
  • Good communicator
  • Good problem solving ability
