The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager focusing on Software Development, to join the Software group at 42T. You will lead and run development projects with significant software content.
Main duties / key responsibilities:
- Project management, responsibilities include:
- Define resource requirements.
- Act as the main point of client liaison during project delivery.
- Often be the technical lead on a project.
- Plan and cost new projects and author project proposals, taking input from relevant colleagues, clients and suppliers including subject matter experts and the sales team.
- Manage project risks and escalate if appropriate.
- Facilitate project progress meetings with the project team.
- Contribute to creative problem solutions.
- Lead communications with suppliers and clients.
- Contribute to sales activities, marketing materials and the Quality Management System as required.
- Report project progress to internal stakeholders and clients.
About You
Education/Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree in electronic or software engineering, computer science, physics or similar.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Experience managing the development of firmware for embedded products and systems employing wired or wireless communications, sensors, user interfaces and control.
- Knowledge and experience of software development best practice such as test-driven development, agile, continuous integration and unit testing. Experience and knowledge of version control systems and containerisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the software development life-cycle.
- Understanding of the process for building in software quality from the outset through design, implementation and the use of appropriate tools and processes.
- Experience capturing product requirements, and planning and estimating software development work.
- Ability to apply scientific/engineering principles and creativity across a wide variety of problems.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering medical electrical/electronic-based medical devices including knowledge of IEC62304 for medical software life cycle process.
