Staff Counsellor (Part Time)

Applications are invited for the part time role of Staff Counsellor at the Staff Counselling Centre, an embedded service in the University of Cambridge.

The role is for three days per week (22.5 hours). We practise a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days a week.

The Staff Counselling Centre employs 15 counselling professionals providing brief 1:1 counselling support to all grades of University staff and to staff working in the Colleges. The Centre also provides workshops and reflective practice groups to support staff with mental health in the workplace

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced and accredited counsellor or psychotherapist who is able to work with a wide range of work place and personal issues in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

The role requires - Accreditation with one of the following organisations: BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BPC or as a counselling psychologist, with BPS and HCPC. - Experience in counselling, preferably in an educational setting. - A capacity to work independently as well as contributing to the work of the team. - An ability to work in a culturally competent way. - An understanding of the complexity of organisational issues and challenges facing staff in universities.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with adults' barred list) and a health assessment.
