A team from Cambridge Design Partnership (CDP) is helping to manufacture protective face visors for healthcare workers during the Covid-19 outbreak.

CDP staff based at the firm’s HQ in Toft, Cambridgeshire, are working pro bono on a project called NHS Visors.

The UK was first placed on lockdown in response to the coronavirus pandemic on 23 March. Only essential businesses were allowed to remain open and everyone was told to stay at home, only to venture out for exercise and shopping.

“For many people, adolescence - between the ages of 10 and 24 - is when you want to be making more social connections, not losing them.

Patients admitted to NHS hospitals are now routinely screened for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and isolated if necessary.

More than 500 GP surgeries are already recruiting people aged 50–64 with a pre-existing illness, or aged 65 and over, into the trial.
