Bidwells bridges the gap between office and lab space on Cambridge Science Park

One of the UK’s leading property consultancies is celebrating creating and letting six units on the Cambridge Science Park (CSP), comprising flexible self-contained offices and labs.

Bidwells delivered a comprehensive refurbishment of the six units which range in size from 985-2,500 sq ft. The units helped fill an unmet need in business space of this size in Cambridge, proving ideal for small companies looking to grow their businesses.

The air-conditioned single storey accommodation was refurbished to a high standard and includes cycle storage and landscaped gardens.

The tenants include two technology companies already based on the Park – Cambridge Touch Technologies and Beko – as well as imaging specialist Emberion. The remaining three units were let to three companies in the biomedical sector – Medical Device Usability, Nuclera Nucleics and Nuformix.

All stand to benefit from the current cycle of investment in the Science Park which spans significant upgrades to the public realm, landscaping and access through to the development of new buildings including a 40,000 sq ft BioHub. Facilities on-site include a childcare nursery, gym, conference centre, restaurant, bar and bistro.

Jeanette Walker, Director of CSP said: “Last year we identified the lack of office and lab space of around 1,500 sq ft in size and are delighted these units are now meeting this need.

“It was not surprising that they proved popular – four had completed by the end of July and the final two went under offer by August. All are now occupied.”
