Cambridge Regional College has appointed a new business development manager to help businesses access funding for staff training.

Phil Stittle, whose role is to increase sales of business training and strengthen relationships with local employers, will concentrate on advising businesses of funding opportunities available to them.

“Many businesses don’t realise there is still Government funding available for training and it is our job to go out and help employers access that money,” he said.

“Hard-pressed companies might find it difficult at the moment to keep their staff’s qualifications up to date, but we can help them find subsidised or even free training.”

Phil has been working with the college for over five years and has a wealth of experience dealing with employers’ training needs. The college’s business team works with more than 700 regional employers, and currently has 2,250 apprentices in training.
