Cambridge hi-tech engineering conference set for success

A UK conference taking place in Cambridge this week explores new tools and technologies for the development of intelligent systems and devices.

The organisers of the UK Device Developers' Conference have announced that the 2016 event looks set to build on the initial success and reputation enjoyed by last year’s conference.  With delegate registrations and industry sponsorship both having increased substantially over last year, the conference has expanded to include a hardware developers’ conference called H/WExpo.

The two-day Conference will take place in Cambridge tomorrow  Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th April.

The UK Device Developers’ Conference is an event for engineers, computer scientists and technical managers working in the development of intelligent systems and devices.

This key industry event explores the new technologies and tools that are used in the development of embedded systems and electronics. The aim of the event is to provide a productive forum whereby engineers can meet key industry experts from design tool and hardware vendors, as well as undertaking half-day workshops and presentations that offer new skills and knowledge.

"We have over 200 developers registered to attend and more than 90 of these developers are registered for places on our technical workshops," said Richard Blackburn, Conference Organiser. "This is very encouraging. It also shows a big improvement.  We had a lot of good feedback on last year's event, and I think word has spread about how useful and informative the Conference proved to be."

German debug tool company Lauterbach is once again sponsoring the 2016 conference along with UK based display technology specialist IDS. Exhibiting companies and presenters will include JTAG Technologies, LDRA and Phaedrus Systems.  More than 35 companies will be exhibiting and presenting throughout the two days.

“The 2016 event will include both a software stream of presentations, and a hardware stream of presentations,” said Richard Blackburn.  “Some key topics for this year’s event include Android development, Device to Cloud technology, Open Source Software for Critical Systems and GUI/HMI development."

Attendance at the Device Developers' Conference, including the series of 40-minute technical presentations, is free to engineers and project managers working in the technology sector. The half-day workshops are subject to a small charge.
