CIIPM IN 2019
In 2019 we ran eight half day training courses in March and October. We introduced one new course ‘Prosecution and Legal Patent Searching’, which was well received; and we ran our popular ‘Freedom to Operate’ and ‘Commercial Patent Search & Analysis’ courses. Thank you to our 2019 training day sponsors - Minesoft, Gridlogics, and CAS. Thank you too to all our participants. We are proud that over 100 people have now attended our training courses, and we hope participants are enjoying using the new skills, knowledge and confidence gained during the courses. CIIPM continues to improve and update the courses , and the feedback we receive from you helps us to do this.
In July around 50 people attended CIIPM’s 4th annual meeting, with many also joining the four workshops which took place in the morning prior to the main meeting. Workshops were hosted by patent database providers Minesoft, PatentSight and Gridlogics; and PatSnap showcased their ‘IP Academy’. Our lively afternoon programme ensued with attendees, seven speakers and seven exhibitors. It was our biggest event to date, and sparked some insightful discussions and ideas. One key message of the day was to take time to understand the IP information published by competitors and other players in your ecosystem and to use that knowledge to inform your own IP strategy.
In addition to all of this Cambridge Information & IP Meeting launched a LinkedIn page and a Twitter account. Do follow us to keep up to date with training and networking opportunities.
CIIPM IN 2020
In 2020 we’ll be offering more opportunities for knowledge sharing and learning for those involved with the business of IP and technology commercialisation, patent and IP management, search and analysis.
The first 2020 training days take place on 25th and 26th March at Homerton Conference Centre in Cambridge:
- 25th March: Core Patent Search Skills and Commercial Patent Search & Analysis
- 26th March: IP & Commercialisation and Prosecution & Legal Patent Searching
Each training course includes a practical session. We invite all attendees to join us for lunch on the day of their course. Gridlogics is sponsoring 25th March Training Day.
In October we introduce the option to spend a whole day updating your skills in, perhaps the most challenging type of patent information work, Freedom to Operate Search and Analysis. The day can be booked as one, or as two haf days. The afternoon allows us to tackle the more advanced FTO strategies and provide better opportunities to do more practical work.
