During the visit, Mr Zeichner will receive an overview of Wintercomfort’s work, tour the day centre, meet volunteers and staff, and spend time talking with those who rely on the charity’s support. He will also formally launch Wintercomfort’s Christmas Appeal, which raises funds to help people experiencing homelessness through the coldest and most challenging months of the year.
Wintercomfort’s Christmas Appeal plays a crucial role in ensuring the charity can continue to provide year-round, life-changing support. Donations enable the team to offer daily essentials such as hot meals, warm clothing, showers, laundry facilities, and tailored advice on housing, employment and welfare.
Founded by volunteers in 1990 and operating from Overstream House since 1994, Wintercomfort is the only daytime service for people experiencing homelessness in Cambridge. The charity supports hundreds of individuals each year, helping them to stay safe, access essential services, and build pathways to more stable futures.
