EFEC CEO addresses Lingang business leaders in Shanghai visit

In 2019, Excellence First Enterprise Consultancy (EFEC), worked with the Cambridge Network and the Lingang Construction and Investment Company (now Lingang Investment Holding Group) to set up a new entity in Lingang, Shanghai: The Lingang Cambridge Network (LCN).

The pandemic then halted progress in 2020, but at last, in 2023, international travel is possible again and this week EFEC CEO Lily Lin has been in Lingang to develop EFEC’s work with LCN and to promote The Cambridge Network to the Lingang audience.

As well as being the EFEC CEO, Lily has also been appointed to be the strategy consult for the strategic Lingang Investment Control Group.

On Friday, on behalf of the LCN, Lily was delighted to address an audience of business leaders, to promote a vision for future business innovation cooperation between Cambridge and Shanghai Lingang, UK.

Following her introduction to the Cambridge Network, Lily outlined the relationship between the Cambridge Network and the Lingang Cambridge Network, its purpose and function, and opportunities ahead.

The audience was keen to understand the success story of the Cambridge Network - creating a business ecosystem that promotes economic development and helps to secure the talent flow needed to sustain growth in a city world-famous for its cutting-edge science industries.

Via the Cambridge Network, Lily explained, creative talent is linked, creating a ripple effect, sharing golden ideas, and driving economic growth through collaborative business innovation.

This spans all industries, including the major ones of the future, across digital, medicine, life sciences and low carbon technology. Over several decades, Cambridge has become Europe's most successful technology cluster.

The Cambridge Network is membership organisation, with over 1000 organisations in membership, including EFEC and Lingang Cambridge Network. Members benefit from networking, recruitment opportunities, learning and the flow of innovative ideas through event workshops.

With the support of EFEC, LCN draws on the valuable experience of the Cambridge Network in supporting Cambridge's innovation and development over the past 25 years.

The LCN combines the local advantages of the Lingang area and empowers the innovation and development of enterprises according to their needs with the concept of "learning and sharing".

The aim is to build a business growth ecosystem, and to create a platform for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and British organisations.

This year the plan is to develop in three areas:

  1. Online activities to disseminate knowledge, share successful practices, and conduct horizon-scanning of business prospects.
  2. Professional training: to provide courses and services with international accreditation.
  3. Trade missions: create a cooperation platform to help Chinese businesses go out and British enterprises to bring in.

Lily concluded with her call to action:  for Lingang companies with relevant needs, whether it is learning and development needs, high-quality resources, or seeking and expanding in the UK and European markets, contact the LCN team - they are here to serve businesses wholeheartedly.
