Coping with the Menopause Sessions at The EpiCentre, Haverhill

The EpiCentre at Haverhill is to run a series of 90-minute sessions to help women who struggle with menopausal symptoms.

The six session “Wellbeing Wednesdays” series will start at The EpiCentre on 7th June, 2023 from 12.30-2pm and at the same time every third week. The sessions are open to both EpiCentre occupiers and members of the public.

The sessions are to be run by Kelly Mepham, a women’s sports coach and PT, specialising in hormones and women’s health.

Mepham, says: I’d not realised how many women were struggling on a daily basis with menopausal symptoms, and this went far beyond keeping on top of their health and fitness, but also impacting their careers and work lives.

“I was astounded to learn that approximately one in 10 women leave their workplace as a result of struggling with menopause, and up to one in four consider leaving. This is quite a scary statistic and gave me food for thought on ways my business could potentially help prevent this happening.

“Knowledge is power, therefore my aim is to give articipants at the sessions information, support and coping mechanism tools within the workplace, to allow them to overcome this tricky stage of life,” adds Mepham.

Centre Manager, Andrew Bell, says: “We are grateful to Kelly for offering these sessions and in our view ‘wellness’ support is as important a service business support to both our existing occupiers as well as the local community.”
