Event programme announced for Cambridge B2B Exhibition

An inspiring seminar programme has been announced for the biggest B2B networking event in Cambridge, which returns to Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, Cambridge later this month.

Businesses can hear from the Greater Cambridge Partnership about its plans to provide vital improvements to transport infrastructure and to support and accelerate the delivery of 44,000 jobs and 33,500 homes over the next 15 years.

Dan Clarke, Programme Manager for Smart Cambridge, which is part of the GCP, will deliver a seminar on ‘The Future of Mobility’. He will explore the impact that changing work patterns, new travel options and better connectivity could have on businesses in the Greater Cambridge area and employees who work from home.

The seminar will provide a unique insight into a range of innovative ways currently being developed to improve information and encourage employees to use more sustainable transport, including integrated ticketing, better travel information including apps and smart screens, and a move to autonomous vehicles.

Rachel Stopard, the Greater Cambridge Partnership Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to sponsor the B2B event and look forward to talking to businesses about the opportunities and challenges they face, and how we can help to support economic growth.

“Working with partners, including the Combined Authority, our £1billion investment in vital infrastructure will help accelerate business growth and secure the economic future of Greater Cambridge, delivering prosperity across the wider region.”

Attendees can also find out about how to use video to create the right people from Go Vocal Video, and Caroline Robinson from Sandler Training will share practical strategies you can use to change your behaviour in business.

Two sessions of speed networking during the day will also offer visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to extend their network of contacts and facilitate connections with some of the 500 visitors expected to attend.

Paul Gibson, owner of Go Vocal Video, comments: “I will be presenting a session on how to use video to help you recruit the right people first time and avoid expensive mistakes. Video is a compelling method of communication which will account for 80 per cent of web traffic by 2020. Used properly it can enhance your organisation's profile and attract the right candidates.”

Paul’s 30-year career has embraced both senior level management in the corporate world and entrepreneurship. He set up Go Vocal Video in Cambridge three years ago to produce unique and engaging films for business.

Cambridge B2B Exhibition showcases more than 85 local companies from Cambridgeshire and is organised by Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, in partnership with Cambridge News. The event is sponsored by the Greater Cambridge Partnership.
