A total of 52 employees from Barclays gained their degree apprenticeship, 17 in the three-year Management and Leadership degree and 35 on the accelerated programme which was completed in just two years.
The bespoke course aligns with Barclays’ Higher Apprentice in Leadership and Management programme and students are employed in roles across the company, from retail banking to wealth management and mortgage lending.
The course is delivered in a series of study blocks, with distance-based support, and employees based all over the country are able to take the qualification.
Since the agreement with Barclays, struck in 2015, Anglia Ruskin has agreed degree apprenticeship routes with employers from several sectors from nursing to civil engineering. More than 800 people are currently studying with Anglia Ruskin on degree apprenticeship programmes.
Vanessa Knowles, Director of Corporate Programmes at Anglia Ruskin University’s Faculty of Business and Law, said: “These students have demonstrated complete commitment to both their degree and career over two or three years, and this was a terrific celebration of what they have achieved.
“Graduation is always a fantastic occasion and it was wonderful to see the students in their academic gowns, enjoying themselves and taking pride in what they have achieved. They will all be an asset to Barclays and are now in a fantastic position to take their careers forward.
