Free support offered for professionals facing redundancy

If you've recently been made redundant, or are in danger of redundancy, you could be entitled to extensive FREE career support thanks to the Skills Support for Redundancy Scheme.

The Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) Scheme is a Government-funded scheme that provides unprecedented levels of free career support for those who have recently faced redundancy in the east of England.

It is specifically for individuals who are at risk of redundancy, applying for internal roles as a result of a restructure or have recently been made redundant.

The funding includes granting free attendance to an all-day interactive Career Skills workshop, as well as a career planning and skills analysis, CV review and extensive tailored support from skilled career coaches at the click-of-a-mouse through the newly launched Career Ambitions Club.

The scheme is specifically for individuals who live in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

“There are few worse feelings than the one you experience when you are made redundant,” said Katherine Wiid, co-director at Career Ambitions, who are piloting the scheme in Cambridge.

“This is why I would strongly encourage anyone in this situation to take advantage of the SSR Scheme and the extensive free support it offers and start to re-build their confidence.

“Redundancy might feel like the end of the world but it no longer has to be. With strong backing, it could actually be the catalyst for chasing the career of your dreams.”

With a proven record of helping skilled executives back into work within a short space of time, Career Ambitions are continuing to host a series of free workshops as part of the SSR scheme, which offer a hugely detailed level of tailored free support to career professionals.

The next interactive Masterclass is taking place on Friday 22nd February at St John’s Innovation Centre, Cambridge. Though it is free, prior booking is essential.
