Glamour is coming to a Cambridge hotel with charity masquerade ball

A masquerade ball is being held at Cambridge City Hotel this month to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

On Saturday, August 24, the Downing Street venue will host the event from 6pm  to 12.30am, with entertainment from live band The Suits and a DJ following a  three course meal.

Guests are invited to dress to impress with a glamour and divine decadence  theme. A cash prize will be awarded for best mask on the night.

Linda Newton-Griffiths is organising the event, having supported the charity  since 2011 when her brother Paul died after a late diagnosis.

She said: “As a family, we are working to raise awareness because the  survival rates have not changed in 40 years and even more surprising is the fact  that pancreatic cancer only receives 1 per cent of funds raised for cancer  research.”

Book tickets by emailing lindanewtong@gmail.com or call (01223) 457792,  (01354) 638617 or 07846 092987.
