Help save the Jupiter Ace

The Cambridge Centre for Computing History has launched a campaign to raise money so it can buy and preserve the iconic Jupiter Ace computer that was developed in Cambridge.

Curator Jason Fitzpatrick says: "The Jupiter Ace has a great story behind it. Developed by ex-Sinclair employees, the computer used FORTH as its language of choice, but sadly was a commercial failure.

"Now the entire company collection is being sold on eBay and includes original documentation, software and even the rights to the brand.

"We are trying to raise the money to purchase and preserve the collection at the Cambridge Centre for Computing History, where it belongs.

"But we need your help. We need to raise £10k to be able to make a bid for it. If we are unsuccessful we will ring-fence the funds for future exhibit and display purposes.

"Please help us preserve this important piece of Cambridge history!  Click here to donate via Justgiving."
