Founded in 1994 by Managing Director, Mike Dearlove, the business started in his parents’ garage in Hemingford Abbots and achieved a turnover in the first year of £1.25 million. EACS is now located on Hinchingbrooke Business Park in Huntingdon, with a regional office near Sheffield, and has a turnover of over £15 million.
The company has been on a 20 year journey supporting large enterprises, SMEs, not for profits, as well as organisations in the public sector, helping them to achieve their goals through the innovative use of IT. Customers include East of England Co-operative Society, London Overground Rail Operations Ltd and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

EACS has high levels of staff retention, many employees have been with the company for over 10 years and EACS was recently selected as a finalist in the Employer of the Year category of the Cambridge Evening News Business Excellence Awards 2014.

Highlights over the years have included:
- 1995 – Moved to a new office in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire and became a Microsoft certified solution provider
- 1997 – Carried out first IT project outside of the UK
- 2002 – First individual order received for over £2 million. Launched annual Optimise IT event designed to provide clients with Strategic IT updates
- 2003 – Won SME Reseller of the Year at the CRN Awards
- 2004 – Achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status. Included in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the Eastern region for the 7th consecutive year
- 2008 – Became the official IT partner of the Super Aguri F1 team both in the UK and trackside around the world
- 2009 – Won Corporate Reseller of the Year at the CRN Awards
- 2010 – Moved to new premises in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, doubling office space
- 2011 – Achieved NetApp Platinum Partner status and Microsoft Gold certification in Virtualisation. Took Optimise IT events “on tour” around the country
- 2012 – Opened a regional office near Sheffield and won European Datacentre Solution of the Year at the European IT Excellence awards
- 2013 – Won European Datacentre Solution of the year for the second time and were finalists in the UK IT Industry Awards. Record attendance achieved at annual Optimise IT event, which took place at Imperial War Museum, Duxford
