Several well-known buildings across Cambridge will be illuminated in either red or yellow on Wednesday 9 September to show support for East Anglian Air Ambulance and help raise awareness of the lifesaving work carried out by the charity during Air Ambulance Week.
The Guildhall, Cambridge Corn Exchange and The Grand Arcade Cambridge are among several landmarks across the East of England taking part in the initiative and shining a light on the vital role played by the charity, which provides advanced pre-hospital emergency care to people across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Bedfordshire and Suffolk.
The support comes as East Anglian Air Ambulance continues to raise money for its Cambridge Air Base Appeal. The charity needs to urgently relocate ahead of the closure of Cambridge Airport in 2030. Campaign fundraising is going well, and the charity has been humbled by the donations received. To date the charity has raised £3.8 million; but still needs to raise a further £4.4 million to make the new base a reality.

Other venues participating across Cambridgeshire include Kimbolton Castle, Huntingdon Town Hall, The Cromwell Museum, Godmanchester Chinese Bridge and Peterborough Cathedral.
