Last chance to join the herd and get your hands on a giraffe-tastic sculpture!

Businesses who have not already joined the herd of giraffes coming to Cambridge next spring, are being urged to step forward, as only a limited number of the gentle giant sculptures remain available to sponsor.

With only a handful of designs left to choose from, time is running out for local businesses and organisations to stand head and shoulders with each other as part of Cambridge Standing Tall – an inclusive public art sculpture trail which will see around thirty large giraffes, each created by a different artist, gallop onto the city’s streets in March 2025.

Delivered by local charity Break, which supports young people in and around care, in partnership with Wild in Art, Cambridge BID and Alan Boswell Group, the trail is expected to bring over 350,000 residents and visitors to the city and follows from the ma-hoof-sive success of Cows about Cambridge which generated an economic impact of £19.5 million for the local business community.

“We’ve had so many great businesses already involved, but there is still room for more in our tower of giraffes, and we’d love to see these final 10 designs be brought to life on our wonderful gentle giants,” says Break Senior Partnerships and Projects Manager Pete Marron. “It really is a unique and innovative way to promote your business to a wide and varied audience and there are a number of reasons why businesses want to get involved. It could be to engage a new audience, boost their brand, help with recruitment, or deliver on your social and economic objectives and we can help businesses facilitate all of these throughout the trail.”

Anyone interested in taking one of these designs and sponsoring a giraffe are encouraged to contact the Cambridge Standing Tall team at cambridgestandingtall.co.uk. By being a sponsor you will get their own 2.5m giraffe and enjoy support from a dedicated account manager, opportunities to promote services and products through trail website, app and social media, alongside invitations to exclusive key events.

Once the 10-week trail has finished, the giraffes will then be auctioned off to raise money for Break, with all proceeds going towards helping young care leavers and their journey towards independence.
