Lauterbach provides advanced debug solution for Marvell ARMADA developers

Leading debug tool provider Lauterbach has announced that it is now a part of the Marvell ecosystem for the ARMADA® system-on-chip (SoC) product range, offering ARMADA developers advanced debugging solutions.

Marvell’s ARMADA SoC family will now be complemented by Lauterbach's tools which provide best in class debugging solutions and will assist developers to set up complex, multicore, debugging scenarios involving OS awareness.

"Working with the ARMADA® system-on-chip is a good fit for our toolset," said Barry Lock, UK Manager at Lauterbach. "Multi-core devices can be notoriously difficult to debug and optimise. This is an area where our TRACE tools and our engineering support have repeatedly proven themselves, so we shall look forward to working with ARMADA developers and sharing our knowledge and experience in this field."

Lauterbach debug tools have become a favourite with many hi-tech engineers, and the company is recognised for both engineering excellence, and exceptional technical support. Lauterbach tools support all the major families of microprocessor cores, covering products from 75 silicon companies. The quality and capability of Lauterbach tools enable engineering teams to develop robust code whilst minimising development time lost to debugging.

Based on high-performance and highly-scalable multi-core CPU technology, the ARMADA SoC family delivers a new level of performance, integration and efficiency to high-volume enterprise applications including control plane CPUs, IP appliances, storage edge, routers, security appliances, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) routers, network attached storage (NAS), home gateways, IoT hubs, wireless routers, Wi-Fi access points (WAP), surveillance video recorders and high-performance networking products.

The 64-bit ARMv8 powered ARMADA 3700 Cortex-A53 device family and ARMADA 7K and ARMADA 8K Cortex-A72 device families based on MoChi and FLC architecture are enabling a new generation of performance and power optimized devices.

Lauterbach's TRACE32 is an integrated, universal development system that can be connected to most work stations and can contain any combination of instruments which may be required for microprocessor systems development, including debugger, tracing tool, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer and similar tools
