St Ives Mayor Philip Pope was on hand to cut the ribbon and officially open the store - EACH’s 45th Retail outlet and ninth in Cambridgeshire.

Shop Manager Gill Partridge said: “After much excitement and anticipation, we’re delighted to be open. It’s been a real team effort to get everything ready so felt great to welcome our first customers. The early feedback was positive and we hope people enjoy shopping with us in St Ives. We’re proud and excited to have a presence in the town. It’s such a lovely place with lots of great shops and attractions and we’re confident people will see us as a very welcome addition.”

Cllr Pope was delighted to be asked to cut the ribbon.

He said: “It was a real honour and it’s such a joy to see this incredible charity come to our wonderful town.

“On behalf of all residents, I wish them all the best for their future fundraising activity.”

Gill was previously a Relief and Support Manager for EACH.

She managed a Sue Ryder charity shop for four years and her CV also includes time working for Woolworths in St Ives.

Gill will be supported by Sales Assistant Helen Bonny, who was previously a Sales Assistant in EACH’s Huntingdon shop.
