Qton launches field service management solution for the utilities

Government plans to see a smart meter in every home by 2019 have brought about considerable changes to the way in which the utilities industry must work and manage its data.

Cambridge based software company, Qton Solutions, has been helping those businesses scaling up for the smart meter rollout to manage their resources more efficiently, and reduce the associated costs.

The firm has announced the launch of a field service management solution that was developed with the help of the industry’s leading service providers to ensure it meets the unique requirements of the utility sector. FSM enables mobile workforces to operate more efficiently while streamlining the flow of information that passes between the utilities and their contractors. The solution integrates cloud based back office management with mobile handheld devices for remote workers and is already in use by over 130 engineers in the field.

Wayne Johnston, Director of Business Operations at Providor Ltd, said “Qton Solutions has worked with Providor over the last year in developing an industry leading field service management solution that has improved our business and gained recognition with all our clients. Qton is a company that not only makes the impossible possible but can deliver and adapt to suit changing requirements with ease and professionalism.

"Providor would, and has, recommended their innovative style, unwavering commitment and sensible approach to anyone needing a solution of the highest quality.”

Operations Director, John Hall, added “FSM has been instrumental to the growth of the business in the last year and will continue to play a crucial role in our success going forwards.”
