Remember a loved one at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s Light up a Life event in Cambridge this Sunday

The special annual event is an important opportunity for people in our community to gather together and to look ahead with hope whilst remembering those they love or reflect on current challenges.

The 30-minute service, led by the Charity’s Chaplain Keith Morrison, includes beautiful poems, songs, readings and music from ‘Vocal Remix‘ and the Cambridge Citadel of The Salvation Army Band. After the twinkling lights adorning the magnificent Christmas tree are turned on there will be a poignant moment of silence to remember the lives of loved ones who are now absent but who have left their light in ours.

The event will also be recorded, for you to watch from the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you (from 14 December onwards).

Chaplain Keith Morrison said: “Light up a Life is an opportunity for people to choose to come and remember.

I hope it will help people to acknowledge where they are now, and also to look ahead to what may be.”

Many of those attending or watching the event are likely to have experienced Keith’s support or that of the charity’s Patient and Family Support Team but the event is not exclusive to those who have.

The event on Sunday 11 December is free to attend and is open to everyone, of all faiths and none. There is no need to sign up - simply turn up on the evening. Parking is available in Babraham Park & Ride. If you have any questions, please email fundraising@arhc.org.uk or telephone 01223 675888.

After the event, please join us inside the Hospice for a warm drink and a mince pie. You will also be able to purchase Christmas cards, puddings, and small gift items, with all proceeds supporting the work of the Charity.

Donations to this year’s Light up a Life can be made at arhc.org.uk/lual. Funds raised will help fund vital front-line care for people living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition, and those who need end-of-life care, in Cambridgeshire.

Alongside NHS funding, the Charity relies on fundraising and donations from the community to help more local people to receive care. Light up a Life 2022 is kindly sponsored by Redmayne Arnold & Harris

*Please note all available disabled parking spaces have now been reserved. We will be operating a turning circle in the car park for drop-offs at the Hospice before cars are parked at the Babraham Road Park & Ride next door.
