Start 2017 with a new air of confidence

If your job involves communication - and just about every role does - why not kick-start 2017 by improving your skills? Two separate courses from Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration in January will help you do just that - one will enhance your powers of persuasion and the other will build your confidence to present and communicate effectively.

Both courses are kindly hosted by Barclays Eagle Labs (7-8 Clifton Court, Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge CB1 7BN).

Psychology of Persuasion on Monday 30th January is a one day  workshop that will give you an insight into the psychology of persuasion and the tools to enhance your approach.

Whether you have to persuade someone to buy, invest, buy into, change, or do something, understanding the psychology behind how we are persuaded and why we resist is essential for an effective result.  This workshop is designed for anyone who has to persuade regularly as part of their job and is interested in enhancing their own ability to persuade effectively.

You will:

  • Gain greater knowledge of the theories of persuasion and influence
  • Understand the impact of the non-verbal aspects of your communication including: vocal patterns, facial expression, gaze, posture and gestures and practise skills to enhance your own non-verbal behaviour for positive influence
  • Understand your own style of persuasion; recognise the different communication styles of others and learn how to adapt your own style to influence more effectively
  • Identify areas that may have a negative effect on the persuasion and how to plan a strategy

  • the confidence to speak in your own character
  • the ability to write great content
  • techniques for engaging your audience
