The project represents a substantial investment in healthcare infrastructure for Cambridge and the wider East of England, bringing specialist diagnostics, outpatient services and day-case surgical facilities closer to local patients.
Construction activity continues to progress, with several important structural milestones now completed. Internal steelwork installations and riser slab works have been successfully delivered, while work on the external plant room, a critical component of the centre's infrastructure, is also progressing.
Further progress has been made on essential utility infrastructure, including the new substation connection and power supply arrangements, helping to establish the foundations required to support a modern healthcare facility.

Alongside the physical development of the building, planning and design work for specialist clinical services continues to advance. This includes state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic facilities that will provide patients with access to advanced technologies and high-quality clinical environments.
Preparations for operational readiness are also well underway, drawing on expertise from the development of Welbeck London and focusing on guest experience, accessibility and high-quality clinical care pathways.
Welbeck has also recruited a number of key members of its senior leadership team, bringing together experienced professionals across clinical, operational and facilities management disciplines. These appointments will support the successful launch of the new facility and help shape the patient experience.
