The last year has highlighted the importance of looking after each other’s mental health and wellbeing but it has also emphasised a strong business need to introduce a meaningful wellbeing strategy for their staff. If you train your staff in physical first aid, you should also invest in mental health support.

Marshall Centre's virtual Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) qualification is a course that equips your people with the tools and knowledge to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. By investing in the qualification, your people will become fully qualified Adult Mental Health First Aiders, recognised by Mental Health First Aid, England.

MHFA will train your people to listen without judgment, reassure someone with concerns and signpost further support in times of crisis. They will learn to recognise warning signs of mental health ill health and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping themselves safe, which is an important skill to have when helping others.

Here are the main benefits to your business:

  • Improves staff engagement and productivity.

  • Reduces the number of sick days, lost productivity and other indirect costs.

  • Improves attrition because your employees will feel cared for and valued.

  • Builds a supportive and caring workplace culture.

  • Provides immediate care to those who need support.

  • Attracts new and retains exsisting talent.

Your people will also learn how to signpost the support someone may need for recovery or help them to successfully manage symptoms. They will also gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you.

Marshall Centre recently took part in a discussion with Cambridge Network about implementing a meaningful wellbeing strategy. Read more about that here.

The course is delivered over four sessions of four hours, totalling 16 hours. To book spaces, email info@marshallcentre.com or click here.
