Art & Design from 1860 - Antiques of the Future?

Cheffins Art & Design from 1860 auction will be held on Thursday 24 October at 11.00am. This sale will include items ranging from contemporary glass, to works of art, fashion, furniture and paintings. If contemporary art & design is something that you love, whether for aesthetic reasons or investment this is a fascinating and varied sale with just over 400 lots and not to be missed.

Some of the highlights of this sale are to be found in the Works of Art section, where lot 49 a bronze Spanish Stallion by Nic Fiddian-Green (British, born 1963) will be auctioned with an estimate of £6,000-9,000. This  sale will  also include fashion items and lot 78 a Chanel suit in blue and cream tweed, will start bidding at £400-600, if Chanel is not on your list then how about an Yves Saint Laurent chiffon gown or a Valentino suit? 

In the furniture section a  'Swan' chair designed by Dudley Austic Layton, circa 1972 could be yours for £100-200 or a screenprint by Sir Terry Frost of 'Orange and Blue, 1995' with an estimate of £500-700.
