Learn the secrets of successful agri-tech collaborations

“Better together” is the message from the next Agri-Tech East Pollinator* on Tuesday April 21st, showcasing examples of successful collaborations between industry and academics where working together has helped solve some key challenges for agriculture.

From projects developing new chemicals to protect plants and livestock against diseases, to novel ways of preventing sprouting during storage in potatoes, the meeting will look at what makes a successful collaboration, and what to look for in a new (working!) relationship.

Aimed at processors, researchers, technologists and all those involved in the development of new technologies and services for agri-business, the event - to be held at Centrum, Norwich Research Park, NR4 7UG - will feature speakers including:

  • Keith Norman, Velcourt: “Industry’s role in publicly funded agri-tech research – Beneficial or Academic?"
  • Dan Hewitt, Nelson Country Foods & Rob Field, John Innes Centre, Alex Holden, John Innes Centre: “Lab to farm: seeking practical solutions to crop protection and productivity.”
  • Barry Wilkinson, Isomerase Therapeutics: “Developing new agrochemicals and animal health products from soil microorganisms”
  • Daniel Kindred, ADAS : “Applied solutions and farm networking for enhanced crop productivity, quality and resource efficiency.”

The 'Symbiosis and Synergies; the Secrets to Successful Agri-Tech Collaborations' meeting, to be chaired by HGCA, is generously sponsored by Mills & Reeve and hosted by kind permission of the Norwich Research Park.
