Help Arthur Rank Hospice celebrate the 1st birthday of its new home

Tomorrow (11 November 2017), it will be exactly a year since Arthur Rank Hospice opened its doors to patients at Shelford Bottom. To celebrate the special occasion the Hospice is saying ‘No presents please!’ Instead, with the public’s support it is aiming to raise £20,410.96 - enough to run the entire Hospice services for 24 hours - between now and the end of November.

‘Team Arthur’ – which includes the Hospice’s own staff and volunteers, as well as its wider community of supporters and families - is inviting residents across Cambridgeshire to join in with them as they party! You can:

  • Hold your own fundraising Birthday Party at home or in the office, complete with party hats, cake and an unwanted presents amnesty or raffle! (Email fundraising@arhc.org.uk to let them know your plans)

Or

  • Give a gift at the Hospice’s 1st Birthday campaign page. Search on on JustGiving for 'Arthur Rank Hospice' - £14.17 will pay for 1 minute of vital all-encompassing care for the thousands of people who need Arthur Rank Hospice’s care.

It costs £7.45 million each year to provide vital, free of charge, care and services to people living in Cambridgeshire with a life-limiting illness or condition. That’s £20,410.96 every day, £850.46 every hour, £14.17 every minute and 24p every second.

To learn about why every pound and penny is important, please visit the Hospice’s website or watch Lucha’s story on the Hospice’s YouTube channel to see how its care made a real difference at a time that mattered to her and her family.

The care provided by Arthur Rank Hospice in people’s own homes and at the hospice’s sites in Cambridge and Wisbech includes medical care, wellbeing therapies such as massage, emotional support such as counselling and volunteer-led support, including patient transport. Each year across the UK 200,000 people with life-limiting illnesses or conditions receive hospice care.
