Cambridge Network: New Managers peer learning group, May 2019
The programme takes place over a 5 month period with managers signing up for the whole programme. As the content is focused on management skills, managers from across all industries are invited to join. With a maximum group size of 10 participants meeting regularly over a 5-month period, delegates take ownership for devising and testing their strategies, with active application of the learning reinforcing the impact. Whilst the first date is advertised, the remaining sessions are organised in conjunction with the attendees so all can attend as many sessions as possible.
This group is a natural progression for managers who have taken our popular Transition to Management course.

“ Participating in the Peer Learning Group allowed us to take a look at our current management approaches and appraise them in a positive, supportive environment. We built on our existing knowledge through the use of a combination of management models and our own experiences to develop as managers. The facilitator was both thoughtful and challenging, and we covered ground that has really allowed me to grow into my current role. Participating in the group has armed me with the knowledge to face future challenges with confidence in my abilities. I can’t recommend the course enough for anyone who has recently become a manager and is looking for additional support and learning opportunities."
Topics are bespoke to the group but could cover: Managing people remotely/across borders, managing high/low performers, basic employment law, providing effective feedback to senior managers, influencing and persuasion, etc
Sample job titles of attendees: Scientist, Office Manager, Comms Manager, Technical Manager, Finance Manager, Team Leader etc.
This group is facilitated by expert management development trainers from Development Group International, who have run management courses throughout Cambridge and for Cambridge Network for many years.
