The Dawn of the Data Age - Metro Bank - 17/10/19 - 1800-2000

The CETC will address the opportunities presented by big data in the 21st Century, hosted by Metro Bank in Central Cambridge

Speakers include:

Ben Green from Faculty Data Science

A leading data science and machine learning consultancy, Faculty helps organisations to manipulate data in meaningful ways. They help organisations work out what they could do with AI, and then help them to do it. This requires three things: the right strategy, the right skills, and the right software. They help deliver all three.

Martin Brown from Geospock

Martin has recently joined as Geospock's Chief Product Officer. With a background in enterprising software businesses both in the UK and San Francisco, Martin has joined Geospock as the business begins to ramp commercialisation of its market-leading spatial databases.

Noel Craven from LGT Vestra

As an international specialist with wealth manager LGT Vestra, Noel is familiar with the challenge of cross-border data flow, 21st century privacy, the regulations around data use and the opportunities for analysis.

Formed in 2007 Vestra Wealth successfully navigated the financial crisis through focus on what is right for its clients, Vestra meaning "Your" in Latin.  The company has since grown from its 3 founders to 335 employees in London with £12.3bn of assets under management.  Whilst remaining a partnership, in 2016 LGT Group became 75% shareholder and has brought new services, support and opportunities together with its name to the company.  Having been primarily focussed on the UK domestic market an important opportunity was to develop the International offering of LGT Vestra and Noel joined at this time to take on this challenge.  Having worked primarily with international clients since 2003 at his previous employer his experience, knowledge and understanding of this market has been invaluable in the fast establishment of the services of LGT Vestra to the international community in London.  Cambridge is also an important international city in the UK and Noel is spending increasing amounts of time here meeting professionals to understand how the services of the LGT Vestra can help and assist the professional and international community resident in Cambridgeshire.  The following link provides further information and Noel would be delighted to meet with you to discuss.
