Cultural Change Manager

Do you want to help us improve human health and understand life on Earth? Make your mark by shaping the future to enable or deliver life-changing science to solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges.

A new opportunity for a Cultural Change Manager has arisen in our Strategic Delivery and Transformation Team.

About the role:

This role is a critical role that enables us to mature our current programme of work into pro-actively shaping our culture.  To achieve this there are two distinct objectives:

  • Maturing our cultural monitoring and interventions through creating oversight to identify cultural trends and driving change to address gaps or opportunities.

  • Providing end-to-end guidance and management of a discreet programme of work to support strengthening and celebrating our culture.

The first objective enabling us to shape the organisational culture requires the role to engage with all levels of our organisation to gather data and insight to identify and define cultural change work as our organisation matures. These data points range from creating new monitoring channels, informal data gathering, our annual Great Place to Work Survey, the Employee Partners and our range of Speak Up tools.  The role will also review upcoming change and strategic priorities to identify areas of future impact.  This insight should then be used to shape actionable interventions, identify opportunities or to escalate concerns to the correct governance.  This may involve changing mindsets and approaches so strong change and influence skills are required.

The second objective is to programme manage an existing but early-stages cultural programme of work to ensure impact is delivered towards our current  areas of focus.  A key consideration is that this is a culture programme designed to enable those already delivering work rather than bringing it into a more traditional programme structure. To this end it must focus on engagement, collaboration and embedding the new approaches and thinking over speed of delivery. Critical to success is considering the wider ecosystem of support surrounding each piece of work to maximise impact and ensure benefits are realised and measured.

Bringing this all together is critical to provide an active view of the current culture, the ongoing interventions and their effectiveness and the recommendations for areas of future focus for our leadership teams and our Board.
