Introduction to Role:

Join us at our Macclesfield campus as a Zoladex Processing Technician, where you'll be part of a team working across multiple aseptic manufacture assets at different lifecycle stages. Our campus supplies products for most of the AstraZeneca therapy areas, to global markets, offering great development opportunities. This position offers excellent challenges and great rewards for the successful candidates, who will gain training and experience in a fast-paced, lean-focused aseptic manufacturing environment.

Accountabilities:

As an Engineering Technician, you'll be based at an existing manufacturing facility that is growing and looking to develop manufacturing processes and improve plant standards and reliability through continuous improvement ensuring production output for the future. The position will be shift-based (7-day pattern) and aligned to existing engineering technician teams with extensive knowledge and understanding in plant systems already embedded within the teams.

Working within a highly compliant and regulated industry, you will ensure that GMP, and SHE regulations are adhered to at all times. You'll be responsible for maintaining various pharmaceutical assets and processes in controlled clean environments as part of the aseptic manufacturing facility. This will be following maintenance strategies and schedules of work. You will be expected to provide timely response to breakdowns, customer requests, fault-finding, and problem-solving using approved methods and managing improvement activities as part of our continuous improvement culture. You will progress project commissioning and continuous improvement activities in line with asset plans and customer requirements ensuring they align with Operational Qualification parameters and statutory requirements. Using lean and manufacturing tools (such as RCM, RCA, and CBM) you will actively participate in and deliver continuous improvement activities and projects.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering field

  • Experience in Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation subject areas (Maintenance and Fault Finding)

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working with automated machinery

  • Operating knowledge of procedures and compliance with GMP & SHE requirements

  • Familiar with CMMS (SAP PM) Knowledge of IT systems where appropriate e.g. Drawing/Document Management Systems, Microsoft office, Building Management Systems, PCs, PLCs

  • Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis of Continuous Improvement

  • Knowledge of Project / Change management

This role is internally aligned to SA91 Grade 10.
