Applications are invited for a full-time Research Associate to join BRIDGE, a five-year, €2 million European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant led by Dr Davide Luca, investigating urban-rural political polarisation.
The successful candidate will join an international and interdisciplinary research team comprising the Principal Investigator, Project Manager, Research Fellows and Research Assistant, and will contribute to cutting-edge research examining the causes and consequences of urban-rural divides.
The post holder will contribute across the project, with a particular focus on Work Package 3, which explores how social networks and schooling shape individual outlooks. This work will involve analysing large-scale social network data, applying Big Data, Machine Learning and Large Language Model techniques, and developing measures of social connectedness using anonymised data from online platforms.
The position is full-time with flexible working arrangements. The role is primarily intended for post-doctoral researchers, although exceptionally strong pre-doctoral candidates whose doctoral research closely aligns with the BRIDGE project may also be considered.
