Senior IT Business Partner (M&A)

The M&A IT Senior Business Partner will work closely with various teams, bringing industry knowledge, business understanding, and strong digital/technology skills to bear in support of our deals and to help improve our IT capability. This role requires a hybrid set of technical, business domain, and leadership skills. You are expected to perform as a leader-doer with the ability to inspire and motivate an agile and diverse team of professionals in a complex matrix organization.

Accountabilities:


You will build strong strategic relationships with complex customer groups and senior partners, develop a deep understanding of the short-term and long-term business direction. You will assess and prioritize Business Development requirements in line with IT strategy, and influencing IT strategy where appropriate. You will lead business impact assessments, identifying risks and issues that may affect current and future business units and roles, and create business readiness plan. You will proactively seek opportunities for IT to deliver innovative technology solutions, including emerging tech and AI to provide competitive advantage for Business Development Teams and within M&A IT.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of leading M&A deals comprising company integration projects, divestments, acquisitions, collaborations
  • In-depth experience in one of the following R&D, HR or Finance systems and accompanying business processes.
  • Demonstrable experience years’ experience in defining business processes, identifying and delivering solutions to drive efficiency and savings
  • Expertise in driving business value through the implementation of emerging technologies, including RPA, AI gen AI capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication / facilitation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve objectives
  • Experience in budget management, more than $5M
  • Project Management and Portfolio Manager - proven skills and experience delivering, leading and controlling large projects /programmes and portfolios
  • Strong influencing, networking and team working skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to develop business cases for integration projects
  • Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams, and work in a Matrix organisation
  • Proficiency in planning, change management and problem solving to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature
  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate technical and scientific information 
  • Comfortable working across multiple domains and with ambiguity, has good judgement and can “get stuff done” without an overreliance on process
  • A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, resilience

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Involvement in pharma IT and/or R&D/Commercial/Operations networks and organisations
  • Experience of working with onshore and offshore suppliers 
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality and compliance 
  • Programme/Project Management certifications preferred 
  • Experience of coaching and developing others, including early talent
  • Agile development methodologies
