With five housing projects due to come online during the winter months, there will be 54 new Council properties in total where tenants will be handed the keys to brand new homes.

The Council has set aside £50,000 to support communities. To make sure it can reach people in the greatest need quickly, upfront grants of between £100 to £400 are now being offered to parish councils and community groups that are at the forefront of their village’s response to Covid-19.

The main aim is to ensure that homes are provided to those most in need and to let Council and housing association properties in a fair and transparent way.

Now out around the streets on bin collection days, the lorry is the first all-electric addition to the Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service – a partnership between South Cambridgeshire District and Cambridge City Councils.

Operating from Over Day Centre, since it began in May it has provided over 1500 meals to 97 local residents in the villages of Over, Bar Hill, Caldecote, Cottenham, Hardwick, Harston, Longstanton, Swavesey and Willingham.

Planners used national planning policy, evidence about past economic growth, and independent future forecasts, to calculate the minimum and maximum amount of development that may be needed in the area.
