A six-week consultation as part of the first steps to create the Greater Cambridge Local Plan has begun.

In the Council’s 2020/21 budget papers published yesterday (Monday 13 January), the authority forecasts generating over £3.5 million from investments in 2020/21 to invest in local services and offset cuts to their funding by central Government.

South Cambridgeshire District Council’s new Zero Carbon Communities grant was established in May 2019 to drive the Council’s ambition for the district to become net zero carbon before 2050.

Nominations for the two seats are now open ahead of the by-election being held on Thursday 27 February.

On Thursday 6 May, by-elections will be held for four vacant District Council seats. These are:

  • Girton ward

  • Harston and Comberton ward

  • Melbourn ward

  • Milton and Waterbeach ward

The Restart Grants funding scheme was announced by Government on Wednesday 3 March 2021 and is designed to support businesses (including non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses) that are predominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for
