This is the first part of a long term vision by local charity Cambridge Past, Present & Future to convert 300 acres of farmland into a sprawling wild belt at Coton Countryside Reserve on the western side of Cambridge, establishing a haven for nature, fighting climate change, and enhancing community well-being.

James Littlewood, CEO of Cambridge Past, Present & Future, said “I really hope that the people of Cambridge can support this exciting project to create new greenspace on the city’s doorstep for everyone to enjoy. Donations will enable us to buy wildflower seeds, trees and aquatic plants, prepare the ground and then plant them out with the help of the local community. This is part of our charity’s long-term vision to transform 300 acres of farmland into a large-scale area of 'wild-belt' at Coton, serving the city and beyond for generations to come.”

We’re hoping to raise £30,000 in order to kickstart the first phase of A Wilder Coton in 2024, to transform 20+ acres of arable farmland West of Cambridge into species-rich habitat for nature, to benefit wildlife and people.
Every donation (up to £250) will be matched by the Aviva Community Fund for nature and wildlife, doubling the impact of your generosity.
