Generous bikers deliver festive surprise!

A roaring success! That was the verdict of Addenbrooke’s Accident and Emergency department staff after a group of big-hearted motorcyclists arrived with dozens of gifts for children on Sunday 17 December.

Emergency department consultant, Dr Adrian Boyle, welcomed the group, dressed in colourful Santa outfits. They came from a collection of motorcycle clubs, which each year organise The Cambridge Bikers’ Toy Run.

Adrian said: “Each year we are amazed by the generosity of the public and this year has been no exception. The bikers certainly caused some interest when they turned up in their bright costumes!’’

CUH voluntary Services Manager Maggie Brown added “Huge thanks and congratulations to all those taking part in and organising this wonderful, heart-warming event. I often stand in my village cheering on the convoy of Santa’s as they spread Christmas cheer not only to our paediatric inpatients but all along the streets enroute.”
