ILUX, the IT support and consultancy business, has kickstarted the year with key promotions and new staff, and added three local household names to its client portfolio.

James Tilbury, CEO, ILUX

The company began working with Premier Travel in January as a strategic IT consultant to the business. The travel agency, known for offering personalised travel services, places a huge emphasis on offering exceptional client service. ILUX will work alongside their IT team to implement a substantial digital transformation project across their head office and their 23 branches across East Anglia and the South East.

ILUX is also at the beginning of an extensive infrastructure project for Mil-Ken Travel. The family-run business with over 50 years of experience in the travel industry is upgrading its computer systems and embracing new technology, including replacing its server and migrating data.

ILUX will also take over the IT support for Cambridge Marketing College in February. The specialist provider of marketing courses, accredited qualifications, and marketing apprenticeships is embracing new technologies within the marketing sector and needed an experienced and proactive support partner to work with.

As part of the business's growth, ILUX has also promoted some key members of its team and created some new positions that will continue to drive the business forward.

Tracy Deacon was promoted to Chief Operating Officer at the start of the year along with Liam Wilson, who started up a new position within the business as Infrastructure Team Manager; Chris Hull was appointed as Service Desk Manager, and Filippo Plumb was promoted to the role of 3rd Line Support Engineer. The Service Desk team also saw several transitions, with Jen Abrie moving to 2nd line support and Harley Chapman moving to a field service position.

As part of the business expansion, ILUX have also recruited Laura Murphy who joins the business as Project Team Manager, Jonny Sellars joins Jen Abrie and the growing Service Desk team as a 2nd Line Support Analyst, Josh Freitas as a systems administrator and Tom Jordan joins the team as a 1st Line Support Analyst.

James Tilbury, CEO of ILUX said:

“One of the most satisfying parts of being a CEO is watching my team grow and develop into new and exciting roles.

ILUX is a growing business. The positive changes we have made for existing team members show that we have a demonstrable pathway for employees to develop and grow with the business, enabling them to take on new and different responsibilities and experiences while reaping greater rewards. Retaining client experience is essential within the service industry. The opening of the additional positions is exciting because it strengthens our team and supports our growth. Combined with the skills, experience and energy within our management team, we have some serious firepower. We are creating a culture in our business that focuses on employee satisfaction, which means that our staff deliver the very best client service. Happy staff equals happy clients!”
