Summer holidays are over: what's on in Cambridge this month

This time of year always feels like the start of a new term and a time to start afresh, which may be why Cambridge Network events seem to have a career focus this September.   And getting recruitment and retention processes on track is crucial for any organisation, all the time.

The conference and bigger events season also begins again in earnest soon: some of these are listed below. You can find all of Cambridge Network's upcoming events, and those of its many members, in the events section of this website. Happy learning and networking everyone!

For jobseekers:  Firstly, there is another of Cambrige Network's very popular candidate evenings on Thursday 12th September. Candidate evenings are jobs fairs, where the candidate is the focus and this time attendees can benefit from a free Belbin report so they can better understand where their strengths are in a team.  With 200 people already signed up and representatives from14 companies across many sectors, this will be a great evening.

For HR managers: Earlier that day, a Cambridge Network breakfast event isaimed at HR managers and what recruitment and retention issues there may be for companies after the end of October. Led by Julie Moktadir of Stone King, this should be a useful session. You can read an interview with Julie, highlighting her passion for immigration law and why she loves working in Cambridge.

12th Sept: Breakfast Networking: Recruitment and retention after Brexit

For product managers: An important focus for any organisation with a product or service is product management and product marketing. People move into product management via many routes - engineering, technical, sales, operations, marketing, etc  - and this session will explore this and any knowledge needed to bridge the gaps. Cambridge Network is partnering with the Cambridge Product Management Meetup group for this session on 30th September.
